    could be multiple things, my first thought would be if the cable is correct fixed at the brake(not lever) and if the springs there work

  2. What does the cable look like on the brake caliper side? Most likely it’s either disconnected, or you need to loosen the hold down bolt and pull more cable through.

    My bet is a pinch in the line or a loose cable. I would say corrosion on the inside of the cable housing, but the bike doesn’t look dirty enough for that.

    May have a kink in the line like others said or the housing got stuck half out of a ferrel or guide, that silver screw for the reach adjustment looks like it could be screwed in too. Lost of situations to look at. Follow the cable/housing from the lever and see where it leads. Can also pull on the cable/housing that’s coming from the lever and the lever itself back and forth to see if can seat itself back.
