  1. 103 is decent tubing. It’s no Reynolds 531 but it’s Cromoly and it’s a good ride. Also some clearance to get some decent tires, like 700cx38.
And the paint’s a great color and in great shape, always a win.
Put some deraillers on it and a good triple crank, it’ll be a fast bike.

Carbolite 103. Lighter than regular steel but heavier than chromoly. Good size and clean enough looking. Are you converting to single speed?

  3. I think it makes a cool single speed, and the color is great. I would get rid of those hideous cranks in a way that no one can ever use them again.

Get a vintage Stronglight or other French crank set, and maybe a chrome chain and a cooler saddle and bigger tires. But start with the cranks 😛

I’d fix it to the spec that you’d need for your riding purpose, not necessarily catalogue specs.

I’d go for a single speed with a forgiving gear ratio for commuting hehe

  5. Always worth saving a bike from the fixie set. Won’t cost much, it’ll have worn French components that don’t go for mega money or just put whatever bits you like on it.

  6. I have one that is very similar in paint, and I love it. The steel is not amazing, but that’s not a huge issue. Looks like there is a dent on the seat tube. Maybe check that out before you invest too much?
