  1. No, there shouldn’t be any play. Are you sure it’s the bottom bracket and not the frame flexing? Did you use a torque wrench??

  2. Is it the BB moving in the frame, or the spindle moving in the BB. If the latter, it may be a spacer issue.

    Did you adjust the left crank arm bolt properly?

    I mean the black plastic bolt that pretensions the bearings.
    And after that you tighten the two steel bolts, alternating, up to 12-14 Nm.

  4. There should be zero play. You cannot get enough torque on the preload bolt by sticking your finger in the bolt hole. You either need to use the correct tool, or make a tool.

    I’ve had success in a pinch taking a 10mm allen key and wrapping duct tape around the end, then forcing it into the tool fitting on the end of the preload bolt. Needs to be a tight fit so it won’t slip.
