Hello, I’m Simon, from the small island of Guernsey in the British Channel Islands. My wife Lucy and I are keen cycle-tourers/bike-packers. We’ve been on quite a few adventures, from short week-long trips to some longer treks, like a 3-month ride from St Malo to Gibraltar for our honeymoon.

One of our favourite trips was right after the COVID lockdowns – a 6-month journey from St Malo across Europe and Turkey to Georgia. I’ve just been looking through our photos and getting restless to get back out there again! This was our route: [https://www.pebbls.com/journey/simonlucy/guernsey-to-georgia/](https://www.pebbls.com/journey/simonlucy/guernsey-to-georgia/)

This year, we’re planning some shorter trips, with our plan currently to explore some of the Scottish Islands, probably the Western Isles. We’re thinking of heading there in May, hoping to catch a balance between weather and midges! Have any of you done cycle trips or wild-camping experience in that part of the world? If you have any tips or advice we’d love to hear from you.

  1. Can sail from Skye to Barra, and head northwards till you get to the Butt of Lewis.

Be prepared for high winds, and for practically everything to be closed on a Sunday!
