My girlfriend’s bike has this perfectly round hole in the rim. We rode the bikes, loaded them up, and then drove 3 hours back home. The tire was holding air after the ride.
What could’ve possibly happened to this bike??
For more context, it was on a 2 bike flat carrier attached to a hitch. My bike was in front of hers, and the hole is on the side of the rim that was facing away from the car.
Anyone have any ideas? Also, can this be repaired or do we have to buy a new rim?

Pretty sure that’s a drain hole and has always been there.
Lots of double wall rims come with a little drain hole in them, don’t worry there’s nothing wrong with it
[Same issue](https://www.mtbr.com/threads/tubeless-wheel-air-leak-due-to-small-hole-on-side-of-rim.1184424/). Standard from Factory.
That is completely normal, it is to allow any moisture to seep as well as allow heat to escape so it doesn’t build pressure and potentially rupture the wheel.
They come with that
It’s those God damn termites with there .05 mm hole saws getting into shit again .
Factory defect. Once you get 1, you’ll have hundreds in no time.
