Finding the Perfect Motorhome in Canterbury: New or Used?

Today we spend an hour or so at our local motorhome showroom in Canterbury, we take a look around some brand new stock and some used motorhomes, and Maxine does her first review. #motorhome #motorhometour #swiftmotorhomes #autotrail #brandnewmotorhome

All right welcome to the channel um I’m Chris from the traveling wibles with me Mom hi up with my sister Maxine hi that nor there Danny what and um we haven’t done again said before we not done much in the van recently because of the weather and you know I’ve got a flat

Battery and uh we what you call it so I think I got to get a new battery for that cuz it’s been flat twice so yeah I um we’re going to go to choose Lear in Canterbury and see what they’ve got on offer on their motor homs just look around a few maxines

Going to do a a review I thought I’d get her to do a review because she doesn’t really like motor so it’ be get interested to get her perspective of something and uh so we did did do four five go look around tours and um see

What they’ve got see what we think we’re not going to even consider upgrading I don’t think we thought that we thought that list time last year didn’t we man we did but yeah so yeah we’re going to get our way we’re just about 5 minutes

Okay hi um I’m the sister of traveling with blaze this is embarrassing I’m doing my first review on a motor home Swift contiki it’s brand new it’s automatic and it is that price and um what did Chris say it is an 874 whatever that Means it’s looking s so here you have your Captain’s chairs I think that’s what they call them turn it around it is on a Fiat badge and it’s got the rearview camera and it’s an automatic as well um and the bed wherever it is does come down so it’s very nice and luxury

It’s got nice three seats either side it’s got a nice little table that you know we do to the kitchen let’s leave it up it comes with a kitchen sink bowl which is really really impressive and I don’t like motor homes but this one is really really nice

You got some storage you actually got a drying rack got a microwave which is nice and it’s actually easy for me to reach cuz I’m quite small you got all your drawers here you got your Cay drawer and your saw Gage drawers and in here we have the shower and toilet which

Is actually really quite nice to be fair I like the coloring of this you actually got a cupboard for your toothbrushes and flannels and stuff which our one you don’t have uh here you got the four gas is it gas hubs of your of your oven and it’s

Like your grill and your big oven and the top oven got a lovely mirror here and you actually got a fridge and a freezer which my brother said to me to do this it opens that side and it opens that side so whatever side of the van you are you can enter

The fridge or enter the freezer and you can do it that side lovely now up here I really like this space you got overhead lockers for your like storage like being on an airplane it’s really really nice and here is the four seats each side but that comes into a double bed

Which is really really nice and it is actually really comfortable to sit on um here is your TV Port so you can sit here and you got your TV switches and a pris said in here you’ve got heating I think I don’t know so this

Is my first review I have no idea what I’m talking about and it’s got your lovely little spotlights up here which to move which is really really nice and again you got more storage up here absolutely lovely and here you got like a little table so I’m sure when you’re eating

Your dinner watching telly you can pull it out but I’m not going to cuz it might not be able to get it back in and down here oh you got cushions more storage so you can put like what beding down there or stuff like that now this does only

Sleep four people cuz this is a coni luxury I think Chris said so it does only sleep four but I think it’s very very spacious for four people oh you got some don’t know like drying I think put your plates in there or something really

Really nice so it’s not all all out and about oh and here you’ve got Den know just got lots of lovely storages I don’t actually know what it is and yeah the tap’s really nice it’s really I actually really like that tap is really nice then you got a switch on and off

Switch here but I don’t actually know what that’s for but when you are you got your seat belts up here which is really strange but yeah it’s really really nice there’s no curtains though it is blind so my mom would be a bit disappointed in that cuz she loves

Proper pulley curtains in her M at home she makes it thinks it feels more cozy don’t laugh at me birthday boy yeah exactly I’ll say one your age and when you’re driving you’ve got your two cup holders three cup holders actually with your charging points you got your charging points here for

USB um you got your your dials on here for your phone and your music volume and your no I won’t be and yeah it’s automatic which is obviously good for some people and like I said yeah no mirrors though which is quite annoying so yeah so thanks very much and see you

Later right this one is a swift Voyager uh just £10 shy of 7 7,300 I’m sure you get that £290 knocked off if you ask nicely on the full and it’s the 564 model variant let’s have a look inside all right first things first that step’s

Too high really they lower it it’s a low step you got a handle you got hand round for the disabled it’s very similar to that contiki in the fact that it’s this layout but squashed up these cupboards are quite big the big cupboards we got yeah trouble is I mean how you reach

That top shelf just like that and as you can see there’s no bed on the ceiling our seat belts Uh I’m sure it’s on a fold like I said on on the manual I like I do like this layout but on these sort of things I’d like an armrest ear cuz it Doesn’t you know you just feel like you’re going to Big sink nice storage area under the sink

Free gas burner with an electric hot plate no microwave no microwave unless there’s one in there is there no so no microwave which I mean it’s not the end of the world is it not really you could probably get one in there to be fair depends where the plug socket is yeah

I’m sure you could work way got a big fridge fford fridge very nice I like this sort of thing well we got that in our don’t we yeah yeah French style bed which I’m not that Keen on because I’d even struggle at the the long end 6’2 stupid curtains I thought you liked

Your curtains no oh they’re not real ones no Nets but I actually don’t see the point in Nets in a van when got all the blinds yeah yeah nice size bathroom area shower very nice what do you think then you like it it’s all right um bit squashed compared to what we’re

Used to well yeah I suppose coming in from a six bir yeah but no it’s nice as your control panel it’s got blown air it’s not got the wet uh Audi wet central heating which you know a lot of lot of people like got all your alarms very

Good so yeah not a bad van not a bad van could do I’d say a bigger window in the in the roof here there a big space St without anything there but not bad so let’s see what else we can find right here we are Swift Edge uh it was Set ear into the you walk a little bit to the left to get into ours not much but a little bit know I think that looks pretty much simar put a drop down bed drop down bed which is again what we’ve got in ours very nice comfortable

Again only one window up there I’d like one on both sides but you know these BS look very yeah the same layout the six belts this is a six bir but it’s not got really any to like um what would you say what the word I’m looking for I have no idea

No Lounge are it’s not got a lounge area it’s got this diet is it got the back here same bathroom as ours just have a quick look wet room little wet room so there’s the the bed the bathroom sorry yeah exactly the same as ours and here the thing is with this

One I can’t stand up but you can probably sleep lengthways along there yeah but not two I don’t know that’s probably about the double that’s probably a double bed do you reckon a small double bed not going to be any bigger than in fact if you look at this as well this if

You move back into the cab this is going to make an even worse bed than we when we got CU look at the difference in that that’s coming into there yeah but um on our one it does over there as well dark wood which isn’t ideal I I

Think O is a bit lighter in it I think it is but yeah and then a decent uh fan I didn’t see the age of it it’s been it’s got a garage kind the back here look into the garage back see good size garage that got electric cable hose your carpets your bed

Inserts look at the size of the garage and it’s a 46 476 and it is a 20 20 plates are 4 years old so let’s uh see you on the next one found any more seat belts on the ceiling right immediately next door to the edge is a chasson I don’t know if

That’s the model chasson welcome have a look in door on the Continental side very from what I’ve seen a very Continental style van really it is again 56,000 was 57 and it’s on a fold cab uh by the looks of that it’s a very it’s the entry level fold cab because

It’s not got saav or anything like that doesn’t look like it’s got anywhere for your phone to plug oh it has got a USB for your phone to plug in very yellow this is brand new def not brand new but maybe quite new very yellow compared to the toilet

So we got a two burner with a one hot plate and a small oven doesn’t look oh yeah that does look a bit dated doesn’t it strange that no it can’t be brand new then nice shower everything else is is really nice from what I’ve seen this is a very um

What you call it a very Continental style of Van they got to be silly if they like a different color sink to have a look at the gar size shut up there we go bit noisy right by the road so there’s yeah it’s a decent Siz

Garage and you’ve even got you can even bit in there have to watch things you there yeah and you got a rear entry as well which means you probably haven’t got a bike crack or a place for oh you got a space for a bike crack ver some

Camera and what’s the number on the plate You uh 2018 got to you wind out wining so let’s see we go to the next one all right so Danny likes this Volkswagen T6 £45,000 it is a 2019 model and let’s have a look inside it’s a Manual not bad bit dark oh look look look just so you can see there’s a seat belt on the ceiling uh yeah it’s what you’d expect from a T6 I imagine this is a pull out bed and this is a pull down bed so yeah K utensils at the bottom kitchen utensils

Youan it would be good for you you mean oh no I mean but this is not where the men go is it who be going he’s out fishing it a little fridge little compressor fridge by LS of things Little Grill under storage underneath and I can just about stand up

In a fat end of the pop top they not bad not my kind of thing but each do their own not seen the mileage but think it’s about 32 32,000 quite a lot for a 4-year-old Camp van but not terrible let’s have a look at this

Cafago where Mom just opened up it is 110,000 5 grand off at the minute I like I like that one okay I’ve looked in it have a look 2018 this one’s got a funny smell it’s got a funny smell okay it belongs in the 70s when you go inside tag

Axle very horrible not my kind of but this cafago they do Luxury the they’re meant to be so this is meant to be luxurious wood you know looks like it that’s nice the sink toilet don’t oh I don’t like the shower cuz if you’re showering you got no C to pull over no

You got the door yeah stand back my bad like that oh so I was trying to I was trying to pull that no oven no no no oven no it’s got a fridge freezer but no oven it’s got branded wine glasses and tumblers then you got a hob

Got a lot of decent storage yeah it’s got no no actual oven or grill but again this is a continental they don’t got the pull down bed here personally like yeah I’m not a big fan of the a classes myself which is what this is I like a coach belt but gives

You a lot of a lot more space up there I suppose oh pull out hello you say nanny so right Danny oh said you’re right Nanny yeah not my cup of tea but no it’ be somebody’s I prefer I Max reckons the one next doors is

Better so we’re going to have a look at the one next door which is a Guist on a 2018 only 70,000 5,000 off at the minute 70,000 it is a 165 DG premium if you know you do better than me so it’s a single back wheel looks

Like it’s I don’t know what let’s have a look oh this is a strange one walk straight in onto your cab and well this is different see if a a step there into the it’s on a fe at the C so you walk straight into no dining area or seating area it’s

Straight onto your bathroom which is a it’s a it’s a wet room with a with a a glass door I think I like that I think it’s better the kitchen area is good it’s got a small fet for oven it’s got a fre burner hob there should be a sink

Yep seat belts on the ceiling and just just a straight up you shake Lounge which I imagine will turn into a oh they’re comfortable seats they look comfortable never that did you sit in the Ki I did the driver’s seat was no I I the driver seat twice so yeah this is

Pretty nice it’s going to have a decent Siz garage again a big block on the ceiling where I feel they could put another Skylight in just to get a little bit extra light but yeah but no not bad this one is better than that one the color color

Wise is better I prefer that layout oh no I’ll prefer this but um that this is quite open no step down from there here we go so it’s a very big window it let’s go and find another one so this next van is an auto Chow chiefton currently on the market for

57,000 three grand off the 60,000 mark it is a 2014 on a fat Pato it’s a tag axle so it’s a long long boy got a nice big wind out awning two awning lights and as you can tell by the vents a big old [Applause] fridge right I don’t think it’s got

A no it’s not got a step there’s a step under there I couldn’t get it out it’s not got these are Big I can’t get up on this one yeah it’s not it’s not got the uh button step it’s it’s even bigger it it would look even bigger if it had lighter

Cupboards so again on the F the C I can’t see the mileage on a manual nice and clean looking it’s got aftermarket radio in there again I imagine this comes out into a double bed nice size double bed nice size window in the roof there skylight with the uh

Blinds come to the kitchen area again this is a very nice size kitchen area shame I can’t put the lights on cuz it is a bit dim in there so here’s uh nice units a nice uh oven and Grill free gas hob with a hot plate burner uh microwave good size fridge

Freezer I’m not going to bother it’s got the old style um gas fire I think it’ be Gas and Electric and dual and uh bit of a squeeze to get into the bed but nice size at the back oh I like that nice place to put your

TV when you’re in bed yeah not bad at all little table down there that I’m I don’t know where you put it I think it must be a collapsible one cuz there’s no holes in the floor to put it in the floor so yeah not a bad van um yeah not bad

It’s got truma heating system there which is an older version I should imagine and yeah nice van right we’re just coming up onto a brand new Swift Voyager let’s have a look at the back it’s usually got the model oh yeah 494 looks nice uh I say it’s brand new

£70,000 let’s have a look in it’s on a fold it’s got a nice low step has got a Broly um holder and a bin and a bin oh this is definitely it is a for birth but it’s a it’ll be a tight four birth I think personally

It’s got a wet room which I would actually say is smaller than ours you know I mean I can walk into the door of ours um through the door I can’t in this and it’s fully opened decent height but again looks like the yeah the sink folds

Away when you want to have the shower two plug this is two drain HS nice size fridge though I must say but for four people it would be very very cozy wouldn’t it very um and if two of those happen to be well yes after yeah it’s a family van I’d say

But a very snug family van um no microwave sea in there seating got there and a table area uh not table area a wardrobe decent length haven’t got one on the other side you got one of these pull out blinds which I’m not going to BB pulling out it’s nice and

Bright I say it’s on the fold um not much else I can say about it really personally if this was my van I’d look if they’ done one of these in a two buf just have the island bed at the back get rid of the top over cab bed

And just have storage you know and again only one window on the side so I lot symmetrical let’s go to the next right next one is a Swift bessica and a 2019 plate it’s 59,000,000 off so not the biggest discount uh looks like a bit of a compact F so let’s have a

Can all right here we go not bad bit oh this smell reminds me of something though I can’t what is it come tell me if you get H this oh I can’t stand up in it I can’t stand up in it can barely get up in

It sit down it smell I it’s been smoked in it has it has it’s been smoked in a lot that’s what it is it smells like me Dad’s flat it’s been smoked in a lot and it’s the sort of smell of smoke that you’re not going to get rid of it’s

Going to be in all the it’s going to be in all the yeah it’s going to be in all the the upholster so yeah this would be a no cell for me straight away but it has really been smoked in nice size bathroom they always are when you got these French beds over

Because you got the length you got the width there lots of overhead storage ah the real acid test are these real curtains don’t matter they stink yeah it does smell like a yeah they real curtain so they have got a a point apart from just yeah real smelly

Curtains yeah let’s get out of this one it’s not brilliant um I think it will looking around I can’t see any blown air vents oh it has uh so yeah there got blown air rather than the wet central heating there we are we’ll move on all right here’s a Bailey autograph it’s

Just arrived 62,000 uh 2018 plate on a perso cab nice length and wind out got your wind out yeah let’s see what we’re dealing already I quite like it there we go I like this six belt so this is a six it can’t be a six well it

Must be a six bar but we drop down bed here which I believe you just push that button in pull it down it’s got some straps on uh so on the P manual cab nice bright I like the seats actually these seats are nice and it’s got a u

Shaped Lounge at the back which is nice look at the size of that L thing well that’s only because it’s yeah it’s two lockers without yeah they’re all the same oh this one doesn’t andless you have to really click it no this one doesn’t work so they’re going to have to fix that

What you think it’s uh okay yeah not bad Le you got the space should we going to see what they give us for us no for that contiki no you sure go blind me I I’d have to sell the house more I think we get £50,000 for ours n we get a bit

More than that but we planing going over nice sky is it nice clear sky I wonder what’s under here under where there the water tank yeah there’ be uh access to the water tank what’s in there toilet B no cupboard well there a big cupboard and it’s got the west central heating TV

Point aerial ladder to get up onto your drop down oh yeah that’s not too bad a very narrow covered yeah you just tell I actually like that this doesn’t go with any no it don’t does it goes with them so the differentiated the yeah they’re probably this for lightness it’s

Reckon yeah shower room nice marble effect toilet there I like this yeah it’s nice one and you got your Captain’s chairs Captain’s chairs so it really is a comfortable sitter for six easily you got two there three here probably get seven in there quite comfortably to be

Fair we got the reversing camera it’s on the f look how many we fitted in ours yeah you iable oh uh yeah we fitted what so one two 3 four eight and that was comfortable that’s with a rear Lounge yeah so yeah nice one going to have a

Look at the one inside it’s a brand new uh one inside Leica so I know they’re quite a high-end brand so we’re going to have a quick look in that that probably will be the last one we look at so hope you’ve enjoyed it so far see you in a

Second this is the lier I don’t know what the model is but it’s £130,000 so this must be the most expensive they’ve got on the uh on the lot so here we are look at this on a f automatic box I imagine that’d be a 9speed captain’s chairs comfortable that

Well toilet in it I imagine which again goes there very smart nice nice brand but adct for £30,000 H not sure come and have a look see what you think at least these have got decent steps to get up you’re not sort of so this must be a travel seat as well

Two travel seats at the back quite nice like about that though CR control panel you shut the doors oh yeah yeah you can do that oh please shag I anyone nice I I was just saying handle for you to walk down the steps yeah I

Was just saying it’s a nice van but for 130,000 I’d expect a little bit more you got harage room at the side in the garage the yeah they’ve all got oh yeah got Harley’s room yeah that’s from a fishing kit nice big one so this is for I imagine your travel

Seats backs that you got a lot of liers in there just One1 and a Half nice nice step very similar layout to the that is the same layout as the one we’ just been in just this isn’t an aclass this is a coach belt so yeah not bad this is the same is it just not this is a coach built rather than an aclass

Nice I don’t think it’s real leather so that’s a mark down for the price so yeah see if there’s any more we have a look a a Fargo and I’ve been reliably informed by me sister there is the price so what we’ve decided to do is

Trade in to Swift and get two of these cuz it’s only a four birth and a two birth sorry and um well we need four people so two it is right yeah left Drive yeah yeah on a IO Christ alight this is in it drop down bed TV

Yeah good size shower look at that as a shower head two shower heads in there look at the shower head in the actual the actual Skylight toilet it’s even got a toilet brush when you get your skids up the bowl a tell two Tellies two Tellies is it tellon a

All nice the sink and toilet match color man the sink and toilet match color should free gas burner f for I love this inside but that TV comes up from outside what are those two swings in headr no so it’s a for bir the storage man oh

Look at the glasses that’s I they look nice TV comes from that’s a 40 Telly that is as well it’s it’s got a t down in the cab area as well don’t want that while you’re driving seat belts at back seats oh would I not like to travel in that are

In the traditional position not on the ceiling probably as well was there just one on the ceiling there’s two on the ceiling I just I I much prefer it when the seat to travel in that yeah but this is going to be a good seven feet touch the floor for a start true

Conditioning I just think the inside of this is just phenomenal I really like it I think kago a German I just I like the little spotlights and the lighting on the floor you best get serving righty f i just yeah nice it’s actually got it’s actually got

A what it’s got a false floor so that means underneath the hole of the underneath is storage as well oh look when you bring it down it acts as a blind for the the Whole oh Yeah just I won bring it all the way down very nice I wonder how many of these they sell in a year like the have a look at the bathroom that’s nice show show I can’t imagine they’d s many so I like the back bit toilet brush

Think and the sink and the bowl match right let’s get out of here before we end up buying one I won’t not going about the back of this sell land dad’s house then if he’s living it that it be nice cuz they’re traveling SE yeah yeah so much better than any other travel

Seat my big pull up yeah so you got all the space underneath storage there a garage that isn’t far off me being out to stand up in unbelievable got to be 9 foot uh 9 M long easy but yeah that’s a very nice one very nice and we’re going to leave it

With that one we’ll see you in a bit right we just uh just left ches popped to Fiat because I’ve got me a battery problem and they said to go to fat so I went there got to ring them on Monday and um that’s that that’s the end
