The Striezelmarkt in Dresden is the oldest Christmas market in Germany and one of the first in the entire world! This beautiful and quaint market is located in the heart of Dresden square and has so many shops to explore. This is the perfect place to visit for a Christmas market with friends and family in 2023. There are wonderful drinks and sweets like mulled wine (Gluhwein), hot chocolate, gingerbread, warm candied nuts, pastries, and so many others. Plus countless shops selling traditional European goods like ornaments, souvenirs, wood carvings, hand knitted Christmas gear, and more! So, in this video I take you on a 4K walking tour through the Dresden Germany Christmas market in 2023. I hope you enjoy the Striezelmarkt :).

What’s going on everybody today I’m in Dresden Germany and across the street from me is actually the oldest Christmas Market in all of Germany let’s go check it out that’s good all right so like I said this is actually the oldest Christmas Market in Germany and it’s also one of
The most famous and highly rated ones so I’m really excited to check it out and this is the entrance right here it’s called The Dresden streel Mark and I don’t speak German so I’m sorry if I butchered that name let’s see what it has to
Offer and the first thing I see is like a waffle stand with some sweets that’s a good sign tons of beautiful looking stores and one of the best things to do with Christmas Marcus is to eat and drink and there’s a lot of like hot wines hot chocolates everything so excited to be
Here and this is the opening weekend of this market so today is Friday December 1st and I think the we the market actually opened Wednesday uh the 29th or 30th of November so first real weekend with this you might be able to see here there glue
Vine glue Vine This is the hot wine it’s really Popular this is just like a maze of stands and stores and people do thate this is situated in the main plaza of Dresden I’ve been in Dresden for a day and it’s such a beautiful city there’s a double decker M around here and back there you see a huge Church Tower is beautiful
You also might be able to tell it is freezing outside it’s about Min -3 -2° C right now everyone’s bundled up trinkets souvenirs wine French fries stand wood carvings you can buy so many things here bring your wallets you’re going to want to buy everything you see alcohol little Hut don’t worry they do have Starbucks I know watching this video you’re very concerned about Starbucks but that’s the edge of the market
These are some of my favorite goodies here you can get like warm candied nuts is some beautiful decorations and ornaments clothes to keep warm feels like it keeps going it’s very stimulating everywhere you go there’s something to look at it’s to smell to listen to another warm nut
Stand this seems to be the main street it’s packed People and you get here to the big tree in the center some of these stands are so beautifully decorated as you see this the big tree is right here and then in the back it’s also a ferris wheel I haven’t really walked in any direction in particular I’m just kind of wandering
Around showing everything that I See going to a Christmas Market in Europe has always been a big bucket list destination of mine so going to the oldest one in Germany it seems like dream come true and it’s just so exciting to be here sharing this with everyone just walked down the street though I’m going the wrong way
Traffic jam this is a Friday as well in the afternoon I’m sure at night or on a Saturday afternoon just gets even busier oh these sweets look really good It’s hard to display sound over a video or it’s not sound sorry smell over a video but some of the smells that each of these stands it is so like overwhelmingly good so you automatically want to buy whatever they’re selling just from the smell itself I’m getting on the outskirts here
There’s a KFC over here so they do have Starbucks and KFC some cool art on the outskirts around here a whole whole piece here like a train some children playing oh you can actually ride this train I think let’s see yeah there’s a yeah you can take this train for a
Ride how fun is that and then there’s more there’s more shops there’s more to see we’re staying in an Airbnb here in Dresden and our host told us that uh earlier in the day is better for locals to come to these and that really as you
Get later into the night it’s more and more tourists coming for the nightlights and the atmosphere at night so happy here earlier on you can probably tell by the nature of this filming video going back and forth seeing a lot of different things it’s easy to get lost
In here and go the way you came that’s kind of the joy of it getting lost in the Market getting to the other end here there a whole another row I haven’t even seen yet and I understand why more tourists people want to come at night because I’m sure it’s really magical with the lights on if the snow is falling the whole atmosphere be Great big Jam jewelry pieces here snacks oh an entire of meat sausage stand and of course wine and bror and I think that brings me to the full end I tried to walk down every Alleyway every little row of shops to see as much as possible on this video kind of got
Lost in there but it is so nice to see and be a part of now it’s time to go have some wine and some food so I hope you enjoyed this walking video and I will end looking at the ferris wheel in the tree thanks everyone for watching I’ll
See you guys in the next one
