I’ve had this ALIF operation on a large portion of my lower back S1-L5 it’s taken me a couple years to build the balance and stability back up to get on the bike. I built a custom Subrosa Rose 21.2, the bikes dialed.
I’ve have a hell of a time with simple manuals and bunny hops, manuals it is like my brain and legs don’t communicate when it comes time to bail and I end up on my back, bunny hops are good on hips and things I can hop off of but I have no air no hops and I used to have hops… do I just keep eating it and keep at it mind you I have very important surgically implanted titanium lattice work in my back or do I accept defeat. Today I ground my face into the pavement pretty good and I’m braced up but when I ride, but thoughts?

It’s tough man. I have had lower back surgery as well and my riding game has suffered immensely. Not only does it hurt to ride, I’m also not able to do it at my old caliber. A double whammy. Even still, I like to keep my BMX around. Sometimes just rolling around is still worth it for me. Or at least being around other riders at the skatepark, even if I’m super stiff and in pain.
