Found a pretty beat up bike and trying to have a little fun and learn things…
Any tips for sanding down these tight spots?
The two paint strippers in last picture were not helpful.
I’ve got sand paper, some sanding sponges as well… willing to go get other items if needed.

A dremel?
Second dremel with a soft sanding head. You can get tapered ones 🙂
Find someone locally to sand blast this for you
Emery cloth maybe
I’d find a local powder coaters and get them to finish blasting and then powder coat the frame. Mask the visible threads, especially bottom bracket and keep the interior of the seatpost clear of coating.
It’ll come up looking spectacular, plus you get to choose a jazzy colour.
Floss on, floss off
What’s your end goal? If its a repaint and not a polished bare frame, that’s “good enough”. Well, the sand paper gouges you have aren’t, you need to smooth those out but the general level of stripping is. A good primer will adhere to that just fine. It just functions as another primer/base layer. You pretty much just want to get the surface clear coat off
Paint remover?
For me a paint remover and a steel brush was enough. Didn’t need to sand at all. And steel brush can get to any spot.

Wire brush and paint stripper
Get a roll of Plumbers sandpaper for copper pipes
