When making an event in Apple Calendar, they have the option to add travel time to the event, which is super useful since it doesn’t make any sense to book two meetings back to back if the two meetings take place in two different locations. Sadly the designers didn’t consider the bicycle an option when they implemented this feature.

Apple has been very bad about acknowledging biking forever now. It’s very disappointing
Maps still doesn’t show bike paths either, making it mostly useless for figuring out safe routes
Not surprising seeing as Apple is a tech company pushing hyperconsumption.
I thought it depends on the availability of cycling directions in Apple Maps, but apparently it isn’t: I’ve created a fake appointment in Dusseldorf where Apple Maps provides cycling navigation, but the cycling option isn’t there for travel time estimations.
Given the fact that Apple supports cycling navigation only in a handful of places and even that list excludes the countries like the Netherlands and Denmark – it’ll take them a very long time to have travel time estimations by bike in calendar.
Try the app Komoot. It gives you options to calculate time and routes based on different types of cycling, and can even factor in the time difference for if you’re riding an e-bike or regular!
Just as bad as google only believing in drivers need directions if they don’t have service. I’m still pissed with how you download a map and don’t have service your shit out of luck for both walking and biking directions
