The issue is in just one side of the front wheel. I was trying to straighten the bent rim. Went to LBS and after truing it still rubbed the fork a bit. So was trying to apply more force. Now the wheel won’t sit on the fork.

You should be able to take the skewer and put it in from the opposite side and push at a slight angle and catch the edge of the axle cap and gently tap it back out.
