How many of you have actually cracked/damaged a frame to the point where it needed to be replaced with a warranty? Looking for a full suspension bike and found this Nukeproof Reactor Pro 290 Alloy in my budget due to liquidation [https://www.coloradocyclist.com/nukeproof-reactor-290-pro-alloy-bike](https://www.coloradocyclist.com/nukeproof-reactor-290-pro-alloy-bike). The frame looks good for my trails and the component list is superb. Would anyone caution against buying this just because the frame can’t be warrantied?

I don’t think aluminum frames are prone to failing. But if you’re worried, Fezzari offers the Abajo at a similar spec to price ratio: [https://fezzari.com/collections/all-mountain-trail/products/cascade](https://fezzari.com/collections/all-mountain-trail/products/cascade), as does Polygon with their T8: [https://www.bikesonline.com/polygon-siskiu-t8-dual-suspension-mountain-bike~21415](https://www.bikesonline.com/polygon-siskiu-t8-dual-suspension-mountain-bike~21415). Also, I think Vitus is still operating in the US? They’re also liquidating, you might be able to get an even better deal there.
Can’t say whether it’s really a good idea or not, but I just scooped a Vitus Mythique yesterday from these guys as well. I’d imagine if your like me and not too serious of a ripper, the frames won’t really be an issue, but if the companies do wind up closing for good, it may be a pita to find little replacement parts like bushings and hangers for anything proprietary to Vitus and Nukeproof. Just my 2 cents. I still went for it
I’m not an actual lawyer but this might fall under the “Tough Titty” law of 1921.
I would not let that be a consideration unless there was already good grounds for me to be skeptical of that manufacturer’s QC, and if that were the case I wouldn’t be looking at their bikes in the first place.
I’ve bought several bikes used which obviously didn’t have any warranty and haven’t had any issues, super worth the tradeoff for a good deal.
I understand your concern but the $750 Sentier won me over. I’ve already got a Mythique, very Vitus garage now.
