What a place! 130,000 elephants in this part of the world (and they do not like cyclists!) We’ve been mock charged enough times to know that elephants have right of way in these parts. Botswana is proving to be an incredible country, even if we’re pushing the bikes a little more than we’d like!

That first photo is very intimidating. Is it safe to camp, or even stand, that close to a wild elephant? It does not look happy.

  2. Wow crazy. On another note, you should go meet up with @thehardestgeezer who is running across Africa 🙂

What size rear panniers are you using? They each look like 35Ls. I’ve got the 20L but have been debating whether to size up.

Congrats on the epicness of your trip.

  4. Absolutely insane. I cannot wrap my head around encountering an elephant wandering around in the wild.

  5. Is that a Da Brim on your helmet? If so, how do you like it? I am riding in Saudi Arabia in a couple months and was considering picking one up. I rode in Egypt two years ago and despite slathering on sunscreen every 30 minutes I still got a lot of sunspots on my face.
