Is it a rim tape replacement or worse?

Edit: the wheels is still straight and the spoke under the hole (it went in on the right spot, so to say) is still fixed in the rim.

Is the rim damaged under the rim tape? That’s the important question

Edit: I think you’re implying it lined up directly with a spoke hole. If that’s the case, and the spoke hole looks normal then I’d just replace the rim tape and probably buy a lottery ticket

Crazy how the dry wall screw lined up perfectly. Seems just a rim tape replacement, once you remove the tape you will know more…
