  1. Long shot, but here goes.

I have a older model Burley D’Lite double trailer, which has served me and my kids well for many miles. This week, the tow arm spontaneously snapped in half — don’t forget to use your safety strap! I need to replace the part, but it seems to be unavailable at Burley (https://burley.com/products/tow-bar-assembly-double-with-receiver-safety-strap), and I can’t find it anywhere else.

Is there some alternative part that I could use as a replacement? Until I can source this part or a replacement, I have no way to get my kids around.

  2. Take bit “A” and bit “B” to your local repair shop and if that joint is suppose to be fixed – have them re-weld the split joint.

I suspect however that there may be a bolt in there that the assembly swivels clockwise & anti-clockwise on.

If there is a swivel bolt in there then it may have just come unscrewed from the other piece.

If a bolt did come out it might still be inside the long handle.

Without a good photo of each half of the broken or disconnected joint there is no way for us to tell exactly what’s gone wrong.

The plastic part that broke is considered a “consumable” and should be replaced every few years. There are round and square ones so figure out which one you need and get it from your lbs or order direct from burley. As a shop owner I’d of course recommend supporting your lbs, but you do you. I think the replacement is about $20 usd

  4. I had this happen (same break). In my case, I got a “flex connector set” from Burley in April 2023.
