Quit get a fire extinguisher why what’s up we’ve got a bit of a Blaze is that because you’re welding here does it catch seant got seant Jesus Christ got the SED do yeah it’s a bit Smokey it’s bit smoky in here yeah I’ll stand by with five ex you’re going to stand on guard yeah right then please don’t do that again
Okay good morning um today just throws all in a confusion it’s uh Wednesday Wednesday the 11th of October today uh it’s my twins birthday so Tamsin and Aaron happy 16th birthday love you very much and I hope you have a fantastic day uh and why are we in today with Alex
Rather than Friday uh some of us might be going away again yeah Judith Charmers over there uh old school reference there that not many people probably well our target audience will probably understand the J the charms was um what we’re going to be doing today we’re going to be doing some
Tiding up jobs we’ve done most of the big jobs so um it’s really good as well the the jobs that we are doing as we’re going around stuff people are liking and commenting on what we’re doing love reading the comments and I try to reply
To all of you so thank you very much again keep the comments coming uh down in the bottom left hand side if you haven’t already subscribed uh subscribe to the Channel please it helps us out a hell of a lot uh tell your friends share whichever or like like’s say it helps us
Immensely with building this and it also it’s nice to see people are watching us really don’t it yeah two idiots from from uh from workfield workfield things doing da things doing da things yeah cracking on with this so what we want to do today we want to put in two Bonnet
Catches we had one previous videos when we did the Bonnet don’t worry we’re not going to redo it all uh we did one Bonnet catch but it moved about a bit so we’re going to put two Bonnet catches in put them onto the bulkhead at the front we’ve also got some Bonet
Springs so we’re going to be putting them on as well to help the bonic open up they’re going to go on and we’re also going to put in a strengthening bar across here uh to help strengthen this up this is the only weak point now
Really in the body work isn’t it so we want to put a strengthen across there and then this is our old Bonnet that we cut up that is going to go underneath the body um that will be obviously in there where the water then from the vent will
Go into there flow down here and we’re going to mold this into this part to make all this nice and neat uh I think that’ll do for today fingers cross we might get some other stuff done but we’ll uh we’ll see I’d rather we’ve learning now not to promise
You too much and then not not deliver it so that’s what we’ll do today we’ll crack on with that and uh see where we Go Right quick recap of where we are right we’ve got two of these mate that and about there about there yep I’m going put some slots in at my adjust them car way yeah um put little piece made a bit to fill that in yeah we chopped that bit out didn’t we yeah
Chopped them out so made a bit to refill that I’m just making one to refill that fill that one back in oh a little curve on it as well at you we ain’t got a shrinker we a’t got a shrinker no and then I’ve just been dealing with this part so I’ve just
Welded that little bar across I’m going to shove it underneath now and we’re going to weld them to this here which goes onto the uh dashboard strengthener same at that side yep same at that side so we’re going to put them in there and uh hopefully well that in place right
Let’s crack on with that here yep N Okay right oh excuse him excuse you right put this panel in and what we’re going to do with this panel we’re going to Glass fiber now over to here smooth that in so that any water that goes in where the vents go will come out through there and
Escape there’s obviously a drain hole there uh that’s filled with m i noticed that earlier and there’s drain holes either side as well Alex has welded on these plates here either side we’re now going to put these in here we’re going to make a bracket I say this is sealed on and you
Can’t see it because unfortunately it’s under the Neath dashboard but I’ve put a a bar that runs all the way around there that supports that as you can see it’s solid now rather than being flimsy when the when the Bonnet falls on it so that’s welded to the um dashboard
Strengthener so that’s underneath there you’re going to do them out here yep and I shall shall I just do the glass fiber in in here or shall I do these on today either don’t really matter to me so going to do glass fibering we need to
Do if you do glass fibering it can be setting can’t it yeah true yeah um what we’re going to do with this so we’re going to just drop that over over over there yeah what about here we’re just leaving that it might want a
Bit of lack of a drop over it to make it yeah neat yeah um we need to put a loop into it there don’t we that over that for heater vent um and are we going to bond we Bond into here are we yeah that wants Bond
Into that startop water from running in yeah and then we can just put a if water does come in and go down this way come just put a little hole here yeah as it’ll go into there yeah yeah cuz it’s got d no on both sides yeah yeah we
Uh I think we’re going to put going to probably put cover over this anyway aren’t we yeah to fill all to fill all this area yeah can do that in leather that would look nice what all right don’t look at me like that right yeah so I’ll put some
Glass F I’ll mix some glass fiber paste in here and then I’ll just do a glass fiber matting to drop over here yeah yeah I’ll do okay and I can say it’s like my idea yeah you can say we your idea so what’s this idea you had Andy my
Idea my idea is because obviously if we lay matting on there as I’ve just said yeah yeah it will just go wavy we don’t want that so what we’re going to do is my idea is to put masking tape over here like this and then we’ll glass fiber to
It then we can peel it off take the uh tape off and then put it back on I wish I’d thought of that there you go now you know why you’ve got the beauty and I’ve got the brains yeah well lost out and both yeah so we’ll do it that way N Quick catch up we had um we time lapsed some stuff today because obviously we’re um uh we try to crack on with as much as we can but I’ll show you what we have done so I’ve glass fibered all of this in put parcel tape
On it and then it’s easy to release so we’ll take that off shortly when it’s all done um so that’s with glass fiber mat this is with glass fiber strand I’ve put this in here uh you can’t can you see yeah so that’s all it was water
Types it’s all bonded up onto there anyway but I’ve just to make sure and it gives it a lot more strength uh let say it’s more solid Alex has welded them pieces back in as we can see and he’s made some brackets for that’s other side is it oh is that
Other side yeah this one there you go then that’s yours so you show them what you’ve done that’s all he’s done all day just make a poxy bracket I’ve done all this glass fibering which was my idea as well this yeah yeah yeah so that’s going to that’s going to
Fit there like that so one on that side obviously not with your finger in not with my finger no no I’m not that fast a runner no and then we shall have one on this side and then we are putting we don’t we decided yet have we where are the them poppy
Things one is here oh yeah be like that somewhere don’t and we’ll put them on there like that one on there on this side and then that should do the Bonnet and then all we got to do then is take the Bonnet off aren’t we um and we’re
Going to Glass fiber all this in out we yeah I think you’re neaten it up aren’t it yeah just neaten it all up and make it nice and pretty and then what we’re got to do is we’ve got to do that to the doors as well because what we did is
When we cut the doors down you saw the other week I cut the door in half there because of that then the skin was different and as you can see got nice tight Gap there little focus on the Audi and then big gap I can stick my
Finger through uh and then we go tight again so what we’re going to do is we’re going to cut off this edge here and then we will reg reglass it so it’s it’s thin so we got a nice uniform Edge all the way around um it had to be
Like that unfortunately because of uh I say the skin and the door being different sizes but um as you can see I’m still proud of these doors you like them don’t you I do like me told it so you can be yeah go on I’ll tell you what
Do it so you can smile again yeah do it on that side and you can see the lock go on that side and you can see the lock going in the uh the catch going in and some the amount of comments we get seeing the handles on the wrong way
No it’s not this is the way that they are right so door goes down and there we go and it’s double latched as well as that there we go so you got one oh that’s two but that is that double latched is that it go straight in
There don’t it yeah hello the only thing we have noticed um we didn’t capture it we didn’t capture on video earlier but stupidly we found a reason we don’t like gng doors aren’t we oh yeah because I had said pot of tea on the roof and I forgot I’d got the
Gling doors and I went until went flying over there so that wasn’t a good start fortunately it was my coffee yeah it was just my tea but y tea y tea get drummed out of yaka for that so yeah if you got a goal Wing which few of you might have you can’t
Put anything on the roof so but there we go right can we put fire extinguisher away now yeah we finished well yeah one there and one there two catches and glass fiber should we see if this comes off N The Excuse me we know we’ve had a productive day when tools are lying everywhere we’re covered in dust and crap dust and crap uh so we’ll have to have a tidy up in the morning so today what we’ve done we welded in these sections back in the uh bulkhead
Made some brackets for the latches or the catches need to make the uh the latches for it we put the cable in we’ve put the springs on uh for the Bonnet so now it pops up we’ve done the glass fiber in we’ve just done uh glass fibering for the front so when water
Comes in now it will go through the vent down and get out so that’s made all that nice and watertight that’s it we welded that bar around the back yeah so that’s nice and solid so that’s all good uh and off camera while we had the glass fiber
Out we changed the dashboard over so we cut it up into loads of little pieces changed it from Left Hand Drive which it was to right hand drive so that’s that panel done as well so it’s all the little jobs that we we doing we’re getting on with and let’s
Say the little jobs take time but it’s coming along and hopefully we’re going to meet the deadline we’re not saying what the deadline is just in case we don’t meet it I think you mentioned it last week but I don’t put it in or not yeah oh right okay I’ll
Keep quiet we speak about it right um yeah so it’s coming along it’s getting there let’s say the little jobs they’re taking the time now uh there’s a load lot of other things to do Bonnet now is virtually finished isn’t it we just got to Glass fight I think we’re
Going to glass fi the inside just to make it a little bit neater and then we can start doing all the gaps but as you can see it’s uh how I say it holds itself up so once the catches are going to go then it’ll pop
Itself up which is good and then we need to put all the gaps we need to do the vents for the side yeah and then boot we you need to do the catch need to make that a bit neater and then we can roll the arches um so the body’s virtually getting there
Now isn’t it it’s not as far off yeah oh SS to do oh yeah the SS to do with a good a glass fiber the Sills on but it’s getting there it’s um it’s coming along uh all I’m going to say is that yep progress is is getting there
And I don’t know what to say next uh it’s a good job with edit stuff it is in it yeah yeah it is in it uh we need to do that dashboard as well don’t we yeah yeah it’s top part at Dash to do yeah so bents to change H is
Then heater controls to change yeah not sure about them we’ll have to have a think about them yeah we’ll have to have a think about the Heat contr right so we’re just going to leave it there so it’s Wednesday night it’s confusing Living Daylights something me
Now with it being Wednesday night it is 6:30 and it’s pitch black outside now isn’t it Winter’s Winter’s on its way so all I’m going to say is again uh if you like what we see like subscribe drop us a comment say hello and uh wherever you
Are in the world hope you have a good week take care it’s good uh it’s goodbye for me goodbye for me we don’t have any set plans for today and uh the reason why we don’t have any set plans today is oh oh interrupted I’ll turn it off unprofessional I’ll remember
That oh unprofessional unprofessional is that hello

Excellent….
Watching from Wakefield, loving the build cannot wait to see it on the road.
Judith Chalmers is still with us.
She's 88!
Watching from Auburn, Alabama. You're building my dream car! Love how you are handling the build with great adaptability.
Another great instalment. I had dreams of building an accurate Cobra 289 replica but unfortunately never quite had the available finances! It's great to watch craftsmen at their work! Keep it going and I look forward to seeing the end result.
Hi chaps,
I'm really enjoying watching this build as it's something I've considered myself. I love the idea with the masking tape and parcel tape for the fiberglass mold. It turned out really good and the technique could be helpful to myself when I come to making my gearbox cover. Keep up the great work.
Kind regards Paul from 48 Spokes
Thanks for sharing this build , mistakes as well.😊. Something to be proud of . Only part not so keen are the springs to pop the bonnet . Look forward to next instalment .
Quick, get a fire extinguisher. Why?😂😂😂😂😂😂
Another great vid, Sundays won’t be Sundays when this build is done ✅ keep up the good work lads 🍻
Great stuff as usual. Don't forget to allow for the door seals!
What struts did you use for the hood please?
Hi guys been watching from inner London for a while now, I'm curious, about how are you gonna change the wiper motor if it goes bad.
love this build
Looks amazing 👍🇦🇺
