Hi everyone in today’s video we’re going to be looking at meeting traffic situations this is where there’s limited space for both Road users and it usually involves Park vehicles but it could be humbuck Bridges or even traffic calming measures this situation has dealt with perfectly with the oncoming driver
My view of the cyclist has priority because the obstructions are on the other side of the road but this clip sums up people’s terrible attitude towards cyclists RV 59xgc have a nice day you know you’ve not been parts then I bet there’s nowhere in the world they would have done that to a
Police officer riding a bike here’s another clip from a cyclist but this time it’s the cyclist in front that acts like a complete Plum I would like to add though both of these cyclists are cycling way too close to these Park vehicles but watch what the guy in front
Does now at least my viewers got the right idea the driver of the mini should have priority and they’ve got nowhere to go but the cyclist decides to make an absolute scene I wonder what justification he was giving to do the exact opposite of what he should have done
In the end though the driver of the mini fixes the situation caused by the cyclist I also think my viewer did a good job they didn’t follow the poor example and they held back nicely kept seeing and allowed the mini driver to take their priority so this proves it’s not motorists
Against cyclists it’s effectively good attitude versus poor attitude Oh I’m going to use this clip to explain some basic principles of meeting traffic if the obstructions are on your side of the road effectively it’s your problem so in this clip my viewers should have priority but remember someone’s got to give you that priority before you take
It now these cars come any other way shouldn’t have moved they should have let my viewer clear first but my viewers willing to fix but it’s the other vehicles that pile in behind that cause the major problem if it was just this single black BMW my viewer now could
Proceed but the other drivers following have left my view and no option but to reverse further it doesn’t apply in this situation but if someone’s already committed to go around some Park Vehicles you should give way even though the obstructions on the opposite side of the road
All good here though nice job bye my viewer we’re going to be seeing this corner a number of times which has been sent in by the same viewer it is particularly awkward but my viewer does the correct thing here those vehicles are already committed and there’s nowhere for them
To go so my viewer correctly holds back and lets them finish what about the furthest one though should that have started well I don’t think so but my viewer still shows some good patience and that’s the other driver finish spot on so what’s the problem with this particular band well as you
Can see it’s quite sharp and there’s some parked cars around the other side also but if we have a look at this corner from the opposite direction you’ll see that it is quite tricky my viewer again does well they were really slow until they found the time to commit but look
At the blue vehicle coming the other way for me they should have held back just like my viewer did in the previous clip however my viewer does find a little space but unfortunately flow is interrupted quite dramatically if this happens again it was a good job by my viewer
With no huffing or puffing the same Corner began but from the original Direction and the car appears and my viewer again helps them find a little space this time all good but the silver car should have approached a little slower again here the van should have been
Slower and not committed until they knew it was going to be safe they’ve bullied the way through there a little bit undriven on the Pavements by the looks of it and to finish we’ve got a cyclist who wants 1.5 meters only when it suits them again this cyclist should not have come
Through they should have waited are there any areas around where you live that constantly cause problems like this cornered us I’m pretty sure this next narrowing causes its fair share of problems also this Rider should have also held back and let my viewer finish and then arrogantly decides to argue the toss way
To oncoming vehicles and the vehicle that’s already oncoming sorry it doesn’t matter you’re still on the road the rules still apply no you don’t have to get off the road to give way you just need to stop at the at the markings on the road no you don’t go on
Go on just go past me just go past me no I’m not being rude I’ve got it on about three or four different cameras here I was already like three quarters of the way down and then you just come on in the middle of the road straight towards me
And that’s why I’ve stopped because you’ve come up right there I’ve had to stop doesn’t matter no it it absolutely doesn’t no it doesn’t I have to give you space I can’t pass you within one and a half meters can I so I have to protect you in that sense
Hence why I had to stop no I’m asking you now I’m just asking you now because I’ve stopped now you can now go past safely I’m stationary the non-current shows her how it’s done oh I love how this ladies continuing to argue the toss even when it’s blatantly her that’s at fault
Some more I grow again in this clip where people are taking priority rather than choosing when to give way it’s the wrong attitude so what should go on in this situation well the cyclist does have priority and there’s a space on the opposite side of the road for the vehicle to fit in
But instead the driver just barges straight through we can’t see what gestures were possibly made or we can’t hear what was said but it’s obvious from the pictures the driver thinks they were in the right with the different clips we’ve seen though I just would like to point out
That have you noticed that some cyclists are happy sharing a smaller space and some aren’t so if you’re a motorist don’t take that risk you put in people at danger and you’re risking getting a fine yourself let’s restore some faith in humanity with a clip showing how it should be done
It’s easier for one vehicle to give way rather than two so remember when you’re in a meeting situation drive or ride at a speed where you could deal with anything comfortably look as far as you can and always be ready to seed priority and always be ready to deal with someone
Who’s not doing the correct things and remember treat cyclists as if they were a motor vehicle give them space even though sometimes they’ll be happy to share it and above all anything else be ready to give way rather than just taking priority keep safe and I’ll see you soon

I am more comfortable sharing a small space when filering through traffic or if the vehicle is oncoming and I can coordinae with it's occupant providing speeds are low. I came across a situation on a blind bend where neither of us really had anywhere to go, I ust stopped and guided the driver past- I was fine having a car pass within an inch because I was able to prepare for it and help out, it is bullying that is the problem.
For your point about some cyclists being wiling to share smaller spaces, we can use similar logic to drivers giving up priority. If another vehicle has priority you are required to give it until they clearly give it up and invite you to proceed. If a cyclist exists, you are required to provide space until they clearly give it up and invite you to proceed.
That van drivers was brilliant and stayed so calm, good to see, that woman on the bike just wow, love how that 2nd cyclist came along and immediately did the correct thing while she still tried arguing
Hi new to the channel! I just wanted to say love your videos! I've been binging them since I saw one of your shorts. Currently learning to drive and studying to be a Paramedic so these videos will help a lot in my driving test and advanced driver course 🙂
7:15 it may be the angle of the screen but it looks to me like the bike carried on past the space before the car got to the gap to be able to let them past rather than the car not trying to give them space at all.
Honestly quite surprised you have included the clip at 5:00 which shows a perfectly nice and accommodating road-user being hectored for no real reason. She doesn't cause an obstruction, she doesn't say anything unpleasant, she simply says (having been hooted at needlessly) that the road is wide enough for both of them, and explains "I'm not that big" "I'm not a car" "I don't have to get off the road to give way". There is nothing in law to say that she had to stop at the mouth of the junction and she is well within her rights not to remain stationary in a place where she perceives she is at heightened risk of being rear-ended. Having looked at StreetView there is no corresponding sign at her end to the "oncoming vehicles have priority" sign that your driver passed. So on whose authority is he telling her where, or that, she must wait? He is the one who needlessly prolongs the hold-up whereas she is showing keenness to proceed. It's not fair to call her a Karen, and to contrast her unfavourably with the man who is not involved in the situation and unlike her does have to get off to clear an obstruction. As far as I can see the only thing she does wrong is to round the junction wide, which seems a legitimate practice given all the plastic bollards. And let me tell you, I see car drivers absolutely take the piss on a daily basis with the corners they cut off junctions.
Cyclist lady was about 3 seconds away from claiming 'I'm a women'.

The reason why this is such a problem is because everyone feels entitled to the road use. Or they're just mentally challenged and can't understand simple concepts.
I think neither should've argued at 5:17. Just squeeze past and carry on.
A lot of these faults were also caused by people not looking into the road they are turning into then getting caught out with the meeting situations.

I really hate when I have educate other road user how they’ve meant to use the road. Perhaps training should be mandatory for all road users. She’s trying to educate him on what he should have done but he’s had lessons and passed a test which deems him competent to drive on the road, what training has she had???
Your English roads are terrifying , so narrow , and so many cars parked contrary to the traffic direction , which is illegal here .Thank the gods that I live and do most of my driving in the open spaces of rural Australia !
I am a cyclist and that first guy is a total tool. Ash is right..its attitude.
It's absolutely mad that the cyclist at 1:08 passes not 1, but 2 places to pull in a give way to the mini that has already committed, before the cyclists had even passed either spot. The absolute liberty taking of it.
Literally all of these would be avoided if you took ego out of the equation

Im not saying all cyclists are the same, but in my 30 years alteast driving experience alot of them i come accross seem to have delusions of grandure coupled with a death wish. I think it's because they all wear helmet cams these days they think it makes them invincible… I often cycle myself and would never behave like that cyclist V Mini driver. Cyclists bear in ming the police can confisate your helmet cam SD card and use any footage as evidence against you. So don't cycle like you are God please.
Imagine going through life with that attitude the women in bike has. Single and universally hated by people I'd say

1:23 – because he's a cyclist and doesn't know the rules of the road. That's why they cycle up on the pavement, go through red lights, and think they own the road.
I was driving up a wide road with parked cars on my side, a moped was coming down the road towards me so I slowed down and stopped as I had nowhere to pull in and I wanted to make sure they felt comfortable. The moped driver then drove at my car, honked, called me an 'f-ing idiot' and screamed that I should have pulled in (where?). It absolutely ruined my day and I was angry about it for ages. I assumed stopping to make sure he felt comfortable getting past – the road is three cars wide anyway – would have been enough!
My road can be an absolute pain to drive down at times specially for emergency vehicles like during lockdown I had 5 fire engines on my road responding to a fire and all 5 fire engines struggled to make a turn and to turn around because people were being stupid and not parking correctly which delayed the emergency vehicles that were responding to a potential life or death emergency but the fire engines managed to maneuver around the cars and put out the fire before it spread
People riding bikes on the pavement avoid most of this danger and stress, I can see why they choose the pavement !
