I picked up the old schwinn for free and it has some aftermarket 26″ wheels on it. Guy said it needs tires and a tune up but otherwise sound. I’m going to do that but I was just wondering what causes this tire deformation? They hold air and I even rode it tentatively around the neighborhood with no issues (about a mile, uphill, downhill, etc.) The rims are mostly true to my eye, it is just the tire/tube.

Casing is starting to delaminate. Replace asap, because they could blow out at any time.

That’s likely just a defect from a bad cast or something but idk I’ve never seen a tire so bad
