Good for practising jumps – Waldegg Trail

Finally back out with the boys (Stefan, Christoph and Andi) after an enforced break. I’d hear about his trail for a while, but for some reason had never found the time to ride it.

So everyone welcome to Trail tracker and welcome to which Canton are we in op um yeah first out in five weeks with these wonderful gentlemen here and as you can see it’s a beautiful day yeah we’re not too far from the city of St G Northeast of Switzerland and uh we’re coming out

Today to go and check out a trail I’ve never been before should be good for this time of year it’s the vck trail so far we’ve uh climbed up through the fog and as promised looks like we’re just coming out of it up here now first time out on the bike

In I think about five weeks fortunately had a nasty dose of kidney stones which has seen me in and out hospital already unnoticed from the climb up that I’ve lost a bit of condition so I don’t know whether you can see all that ice on the trail here it is the middle of

December already have one big snowfall it’s all melted so now we’re left with like frozen mud you can see some last remnants of the snow okay oh grip than I actually Thought he this is where we are at the top it’s going to take us all the way down to St gorgen which is essentially in the city of sanala so apparently it’s pretty good for looping certain section so we’re just going to first of all do a little lap of this

Section and then we’ll go back up look we know where everything is the theory is we now know what’s coming Who monster case Koff definitely doesn’t like that corner nice burn okay here we go second part I’m going to try and leave a bit more of a Gap nice and routy bit of a drop beautiful unfortunately though this fallen tree kind of gets in the way this next drop feature so look yeah that’s pretty slippery there you want to make sure you hit that dead straight okay so that’s how you do it neat try to do the same [Applause]

Okay couple of Jumps oh a little bit muddy down here [Applause] wet wood muddy tires what a horrible [Applause] combination no possibly not the best conditions which is a Pity because I reckon with some better conditions and a few laps to learn the lines this section would be absolutely amazing oh wow a little [Applause]

Tombstone definitely want to put on list for return visit when the holes have been filled trees have been removed and this bridge has been finished no that used to be part of the trail it’s closed apparently just stop a second look at that temperature inversion Sensational bad news is we’re about to

Head down into it down into the fog here we get oh instantly so much colder I guess that’s why they call it a temperature Inversion so we got a bit of a squeaking brake problem at the moment but with a little bit of Stefan’s magic spray we managed to get rid of it before so we just do it again quickly now just to make sure you can hear something other than my squeaky brakes [Applause] nicely done

Oh it’s never going to work if my brak’s not working properly yeah I must have contaminated my pads or something there’s no point in putting new ones in cuz if it’s all over the uh disc I’ll just end up screwing up a second set of [Applause] pads [Applause] [Applause] oh [Applause]

It’s bit of a shame with all the uh down trees at the moment but one thing you can be sure nobody’s coming and sorting those out till the spring all right I guess that’s all part of the deal if you want to keep riding all year where we live

This really is a fun pack trail with loads of interesting features and I’m pretty sure that this won’t be our last visit in the meantime though thanks for coming along stay safe and I’ll see you next Time
