This happened on my ride yesterday. I did not crash, but I grabbed the brakes hard as my 6yo stopped in the trail around a blind corner π΅βπ«
Not sure if I was just unlucky an must have tweaked the lever weird or if this is a defect or something that just happens.
It seems I canβt purchase the main body as a repair piece, you can only order levers, back caps, or a whole assembly.
If Im replacing the part is there a preferred upgrade? Not sure if MT7 is a lot better assembly and would prevent this. Shigura is an option if this is a common issue with the Magura, but Id prefer to keep things all Magura for now as I think this is not a common issue.
Thanks!

Isn’t this is the reason Shigura is a thing in the first place?
Iβd like to think this doesnβt just happen out of nowhere and they were probably already fractured from a previous incident
I love Magura, but idk why they insist on using plastic reservoirs
Magura will probably warranty that. Why not check with them?
Got that chineseium metal
Nice car! π
Unfortunately yes it’s common with MT5s. That’s one of the reasons why “Shigura” mods are a thing. Shimano levers with Magura calipers.

Very common for magura levers to snap off like this. Now you have an excuse to throw some Shimano levers on there for the Shigura setup!!
