A follow-up to a previous video, this time testing lighter recoiling target shot in my Bushmeister BA-X12. The Bushmeister is a lever-release shotgun that uses an inertial mechanism, instead of the more typical gas mechanism that is seen in other similar shotguns in Australia. As it utilises the recoil energy of the shot to cycle the bolt, the Bushmeister isn’t compatible with all different types of ammunition, but this time we test a wider range of target ammunition to see how light a load you can reliably shoot.

I tested my model with Winchester Super Target 28g 1350fps, 1290fps, 1250fps, Eley Olympic Blues 28g 1250fps, Federal TopGun 28g 1180fps, and Eley Amber 24g 1200fps

Hi guys Dave here from black stunt ballistics and today we’re back out in the property with the bush Master now this time we’re going to be shooting some light recoiling Target shot and we’re going to see what makes it work now as you might remember the bushmaster having an inertial mechanism doesn’t

Always like the light recoiling Target shot and is mostly good for hunting shot but we’ got a full range out here today I’ve got good hopes in this 1350s and we’ll see what happens first up we got Winchester Super Target this is 1 oz of number 7 and a

Half shot got it’s doing 30 and 50 ft per second I think we’ll do another five they worked all right next up this is we Winchester Super Target also 1 out of 7 and 1/2 these are doing 1290 ft per second this is Winchester Super Target 1

Out of number seven and a halfs they’re doing 1250 ft per second I don’t always work so let’s see what happens it might be worth noting at this point that these guys have been sitting in the Sun for a little while and also in my pocket so they’re a little bit

Warmer and that’s something that can help if you’re use a lower velocity shot with a push Master these are early Olympic Blues 1 o of number 7 and 1 half shots is are also doing 1250 ft per second that also work all right this is federal Top Gun one out at

Number seven and a half shot these are doing 1180 ft per second so they’re low recoil I don’t think they’re going to work so let’s find out what do you know let’s try five more next up we got the pink stuff IL ambers for The Confident man with nothing to

Prove this is 24 G of number 7 and a half shot and they’re doing about 12200 ft per second doesn’t always work in the past let’s see what happens yep same old story last up something this gun’s designed for we’ve got El alphax 36 G of AA can’t remember how many feet per

Second they’re doing this is hunting shot not Target shot that’s what it’s meant for well there you have it folks apparently it all seems to work apart from those IL ambers but we didn’t think they’d work anyway now it might be worth noting that while it’s a fairly cool day the sun is

Quite warm so much ammunition is warming up a little bit and I’ve been shooting this shotgun for nearly two years now so it’s nice and loose now so if your bush Master isn’t working with the lighter recoiling shot maybe just put another few hundred rounds through it you’ll love

It anyway thanks again for joining us and we’ll see you back out in the range with more Bush Master content
