Hi all, I’m a beginner and getting into cycling for the first time. I want a great all around bike that I can also use for potential triathlon training. I found this Grail CF SL7 for $1,899 (and extra 10% off right now) and was wondering if this is a good deal from the outlet section. I’ve been considering going to a Trek LBS and picking out a first bike, but this Grail seems to check all the boxes for me in a beginner bike. I’m just worried about it being an outlet bike, and what kind of assembly will be required upon arrival. Appreciate the feedback!

It‘s a great bike and good deal but is a gravel bike really the bike you want to go for a triathlon?
Wow, *three* comments today about using a gravel bike for triathloning.
It used to be cyclocross bikes, now everyone wants gravel bikes for pavement. I’ve known so many people who bought CX/gravel, bikes, then sold them three months later and bought proper road bikes. I would recommend an endurance bike instead (Defy, Endurace, etc), but if you insist on a gravel bike, then yes, this bike would be very easy to assemble. Watch the Canyon videos, it takes 20 minutes to unbox and you’re ready to ride.
Yeah, why not an endurace with the fattest tires?
Bought my Endurace CF 7 via the outlet….was practically brand new (obviously YMMV) besides a slightly scratched RD and a couple of paint chips. I had some issues with the headset but that was resolved by replacing the crappy plastic top cap with a metal one
