Fixing up an old bike (new to me so I don’t know its history). When riding it, the chain behaves unpredictable. Skipping etc, very often. Some ring combinations seems to work ok. Assuming these are too worn out? Chain is new (SRAM). Cassette and chainrings are Shimano Interactive Glide. Not sure if it could be compability issues causing the problems?
Some teeth look deformed (see red highlight) but I assume it should look like this since there are a few of these looking the same?
One pulley wheel has a chipped tooth too.
When I shift the bike in the stand or while upside down, I don’t notice any shifting issues so it seems to be only under load.

When did you replace the chainrings and the casette the last time? They last approx. 2 Chain lifes. If the chain is new and is skipping its time for a replacement.
You’re looking at [ramps and pins](https://www.sheldonbrown.com/gloss_p.html#pins) not chainring damage. When you say skipping do you mean chain literally slipping over the rings or do you mean skipping into a different gear at random?
Yes very worn. If its a 7-8 speed i would get a shimano hg31 its black and made from steel
Cassette its hard to tell, if its skipping it probably needs replacing. The middle chainring definitely looks worn (maybe damaged some other way), and the other chainrings don’t look great (teeth look thinner and grooves look deep and asymmetrical)
If you’re not having trouble shifting or other issues like dropping the chain or sucking it up (where it doesn’t release and gets wrapped up) then don’t worry too much.
Clean it and repost

1 & 5 looks like there’s a chunk of metal missing? Or is that just the lighting?
Otherwise looks fine for steel teeth. Performance is a better metric than how it looks when judging wear.
