Only one side of the wheel will fit in at a time.. See pic the left side is in but the right is nowhere near

Different angle
It’s hard to tell from the photo if the wheel is perpendicular to the side that is currently installed but it should be easy to put the wheel in and out without having to bend or twist the fork-ends to make it work.
If you just bought this and that is not the case for any reason you should take it back to where you got it. It looks like this may be a department store bike so they will likely replace the whole thing instead of just the fork.
Looks out of line from the pics. Push it up against a wall with the fork touching. If the bars aren’t straight it will confirm it (as long as your bars are centred)
