My work is a 30 minute walk away, and I’ve been taking lime scooters often enough that I’m better off finally just buying a bike. There’s two routes I could take to my work. One is a dirt trail that gets pretty muddy during the rainy season. The other goes along the road, includes only one major hill, has some really rough terrain along a portion of the sidewalk, and would force me to ride the sidewalk once I get into the downtown area.
I live on the eastside of Seattle, so lots of beautiful nature trails to ride around in, which is why I’m leaning more towards mountain bikes. I have about zero knowledge of buying bikes, all my previous ones were just whatever my parents got me. I’m pretty out of shape and 6ft tall. Correct me if I’m wrong, but the Ghost seems like the best deal?

Marin with the lighter rigid fork for commuting and hills.
If you need more comfort for bumps then run the air pressure towards the lower limit listed on the side of the tires.
Suspension forks add weight.
The 2 full suspension bikes are going to be heavy on hills and that’s about what they are worth if they have older outdated 26″ wheels instead of newer 27.5″ and 29″.
At 6 feet tall 17″ will be too small, your size may range from 18″ to 20″. The Trek is even smaller.
Marin 100%
definitely the marin
