    If the difference is exactly 5mm, then you have a 73mm crank in a 68mm bottom bracket. You can take up the difference with bottom bracket spacers (shimano mountain ht2 bbs come with the spacers).

    2×2.5mm spacers should do the trick, though iirc shimano gives a 1mm and 2 2mm spacers, and the 1mm goes on the non drive side.

  2. It’s a copy of a cane creek, stam dub, Easton style crank with the pre load collar on the non drive side. Tap it flush on the drive side then screw the preload collar to push against the non drive side bearing until there’s no play. You will need to loosen the set screw on the collar to to so, retighten when done. If the pre load collar comes off its threads before the play is sorted, then add some thin plastic spindle spacers to take up space between the cost and non drive side bearing.
