The two royals attended the 2023 Rugby World Cup match between Wales and Argentina at the Orange Velodrome in Marseille, France on October 14, 2023.
William, Prince of Wales and patron of the Welsh Rugby Union, and his son had a tough day after being knocked out of the Rugby World Cup with a 29-17 defeat to Argentina.
Regardless of the outcome, it was another opportunity for 10-year-old George to have a first-hand royal experience and meet dignitaries. A video of a father and son meeting before a game is going viral on TikTok.
The video has received over 101,000 likes and over 2.1 million views. “Giving Prince William George a ‘little royal’ moment goes viral.” One fan replied: “They will be great kings and the country will be proud”, while another fan replied: “This is how future kings are made”.
A third said the father’s tactics were “learned from Prince William’s lovely mother”. Another said: “George seems more confident as he gets older. “While father and son watched Wales win on Saturday, Kate Middleton watched England beat Fiji 30-24 in Marseille the following day.
After the match, the princess entered the dressing room of the England team and congratulated the players on their success. England advanced to the semi-finals of the tournament against South Africa at the Stade de France in Paris on Saturday 21 October.
The Princess of Wales became patron of England’s Rugby Football Union (RFU) in February 2022, sparking years of sporting rivalry between the families.

In other news, Kate Middleton has visited her old school, sparking speculation that Prince George may also attend. The Princess of Wales, 41, is returning for a visit to Marlborough College, the Daily Mail’s Richard Eden reports.
“Catherine was here yesterday,” a source told the reporter. “It was about school.” In addition to Princess Kate and her two siblings, Pippa and James Middleton, Princess Eugenie also attended boarding school.
The royal visit has led to speculation that Prince William and Princess Kate are considering Marlborough College as the next school for their three children.
Prince George visited earlier this year. His parents, Prince William and Prince Harry, attended Eton College as teenagers.
