A group of really, really old men have been riding bikes together for over 10 years, exploring the terrain of Gulsetmarka. They’ve had a dream about riding in the winter, and have tried several different methods to achieve it. Riding fatbikes is essential to being able to ride in the wintertime, but it’s not always possible to ride when the snow gets too deep.
I followed the group for a year, seeing their transition from summer to winter, and their making of the machine that would let them finally try winter riding.

The guys trying to sort out grooming tools shows some serious perseverance. Around here, they use a “Snow Dog” which works well. The imagery from 25 to 30 minutes is spectacular! We’re still waiting for snow here to stay on the ground…hoping we get close to those conditions some time this winter. Super cool flick.
Oh, and “really old men”? I think not…those guys are having a blast so in my eyes are about 14 years old 🙂

Thank you for sharing this! Beautifully shot scenes; loved how you interweave the narrative and scenes of the group out biking. The fat bike trail looks amazing. This is about so much more than winter fatbiking: the camaraderie in all seasons among the men is lovely to watch, as is how they take their fun seriously, always having a good time but also clearly very knowledgeable about the terrain and their bikes.
