In this talk, Professor Tobias Kaupp will present applied research in the area of collaborative robotics which is driven by German industry demands.

Two application areas will be covered:

– cobot-assisted assembly & manufacturing, and
– mobile manipulators for smart factories.

He will present initial results gained from two funded research projects and will report on their multi-year experiences taking part in international student competitions in this space. Tobias will also provide a general overview of our Center for Robotics (CERI) and show how they implemented their recently introduced B.Eng. in Robotics course.

Tobias Kaupp is a Visiting Professor with the Australian Cobotics Centre (ACC) from the Technical University of Applied Sciences Wuerzburg-Schweinfurt (THWS). He is based at UTS working with Teresa Vidal-Calleja on the Centre”s Biomimic Cobots research program between September 2023 and February 2024.
