My partner has the oppertunity to buy this bike. The frame is an older Kona Sutra. Last summer we went bikepacking from switzerland to montenegro, me on my self build bikepacking/touring bike, them on a 26inch mtb I upgraded. It was awesome but they had a hard time keeping up, partially because of the bike. Now they’re looking for a bike with more modern components, dropbars and more speed to it. Something suitable for long trips but also light weekend trips and fast(ish) unloaded rides. I came across this offer and got very excited for them. We’re on a tight budget and this is already kinda stretching the financials for us but that could be worth it.
We can get it for €500. Its their size and in our city so thats great.
grx 2×10 carnkset
grx hydraulic brakes
grx derailleur with clutch
brooks saddle
thomson seatpost
pro gravelbars
pro stem
pro hope evo wheelset 27.5
The seller build it up fresh about 1,5 years ago. The cassette and chain should be replaced soon.
Now im wondering what you all think about the build and its capabilities. Any things to consider or look out for would be very helpfull. Also a production year on the frame would be nice.
Thanks in advance!

Drive train is pretty recent and decent GRX 2x and the hubs are from Hope. Seems pretty decent. The rims should be tubeless ready, hopefully.
Questions I’d be asking –
Whats the max clearance for tires on that years model?
When was the last time the BB and headset was serviced?
Has the frame or fork ever been in a crash?
Got a used Krampus a 5 years ago and it’s turned into the everything bike / quiver killer
It seems suspiciously cheap for 500€. I would worry that it was stolen. If it’s not and there isn’t anything major wrong with it then it’s a steal. If it is, then it’s obviously also a steal.

EDIT: I misread that. An older frame freshly built. Still, a very good deal if it’s in good condition. The parts they used were new except for the frame?
Components alone are worth more than 500. Looks good if it rides well and looks like it was built up well.
I would grab that in two seconds flat. Even if it needs some maintenance, it is still a great deal at 500.
