The downsides of mass tourism pointed out in this video are actually the same in every relevant tourist destination accross Europe – Venice, Barcelona, Prague, Ibiza etc, they just become more obvious in a place of a smaller size.
when riding up through Italy I thought the same of the Amalfi coast, much lauded but just ruined by honey pot tourism…the great thing about the bicycle is all the relatively unknown places you visit and the ability to arrive and stay at quiet atmospheric times free from the tour bus throngs.
