Hi all, this is my Specialized 2011 Globe Roll 02. As you can see it has these strange proprietary integrated dropouts which have led me to the following questions:
1. if something were to go wrong with the wheels, would the frame be salvageable? To me it looks like the frame could only work with these specefic hubs, so if the hubs got stripped or something I would have to trash the whole bike? The weird dropout hood thing extends over the nut on the back so idk how I would tighten a traditional track nut on there, nor am I sure that it would fit.
2. Is it safe? I mean I’ve never seen something like the rear dropout, it uses like a 5mm Allen key to tighten and the inner wall of the dropout looks pretty thin compared to other track dropouts I’ve seen. Been making me a little nervous since I ride fixed gear and pretty aggressively
All that being said I’ve rode this bike for almost a year now and love it, but since I’m in to upgrading some stuff I’m wondering if I should sell it and get a new one that has more traditional comparability.

phil wood track hubs are mounted with bolts instead of nuts. what does the dropout look like without the tension mechanism?
I think normal 120mm wheels and track nuts fit these dropouts just fine. The washer part of a track nut is 7/8″ aka 22.2mm. Surly also use m6 cap screws like this for some of their hubs
