Here’s my daily ride: a fifteen-year-old old Swift Folder with a Sturmey Archer 2-speed kick-shift coaster brake hub. It’s remarkably versatile: it tows my 4-year-old in a trailer, goes all around my city (Hartford, CT), makes <30-mile jaunts to nearby cities for work (Waterbury, New Britain, Middletown), and rides on the bus bike rack or folds up to get on the train when I have to go to more distant cities for work or play (New Haven, Bridgeport, Stamford). And it’s actually a joy to ride!

Sweet setup, folding bikes seem like a perfect solution for multi-modal commuting! What’s the spacing between gears like, do you feel there’s enough gap between to be worth it over a single speed?
