I got this saddle with the top loose and in heavily worn condition. The original nut had become too short, so the top could be pulled off.
I got this replacement bolt, washer and nuts from home depot and have managed to get the saddle right enough (I think).
The leather is fairly pliable but I think I’ll touch is up with a bit of saphor renovateur or basic dubbin.
Any thoughts and feedback are welcome. I may add one more nut next to the one at the front of the saddle to reduce the chance of the nuts turning on themselves.

aside from the nostalgic vibe, I can’t imagine that is ever going to feel comfortable again.
