I’m looking to buy a Grizl soon for bikepacking next spring/summer, however I struggle to decide which it is going to be. Currently I think it’s going to be a Grizl 8 1by (also thinking about the [Grizl 7 “coming soon”](https://www.canyon.com/en-de/gravel-bikes/adventure/grizl/al/grizl-7/3715.html?dwvar_3715_pv_rahmenfarbe=R075_P06)). However there are two versions, [one available (let’s call it version #A)](https://www.canyon.com/en-de/gravel-bikes/adventure/grizl/al/grizl-8-1by/3467.html?dwvar_3467_pv_rahmenfarbe=R075_P02) and [one “coming soon” (#B)](https://www.canyon.com/en-de/gravel-bikes/adventure/grizl/al/grizl-8-1by/4104.html?dwvar_4104_pv_rahmenfarbe=R075_P04). The only difference I see is the drivetrain
– A GRX RX822 + SLX M7100 11-45 12s
– B GRX RX810 + Deore XT M8000 11-42 11s
and the wheels
– A DT Swiss Gravel LN
– B DT Swiss G1800 Spline
I guess #A offers a wider gear range but the wheels of #B seem to be the better choice. Also I don’t really like the colour of #B, but that is secondary to me.
Which would you recommend and why, or does it even matter? Thanks in advance!

I would recommend the 12x group. You have way better gear range, the new hood design (little rounder to follow flared bars to prevent pressure spots), wider pad clearance and it’s featureproof. 12x components are just as cheap as 11x ones and you’ll get hyperglide plus shifting performance ( honestly the difference is not that noticeable but nice to have). The older 8 1by has the split seatpost but they need maintance, they can creak and getting used to it takes some time… I don’t realy like this seatpost but you could still upgrade it if you need to. Wheelsets are both entry level, equally heavy and tubelessready
