Edit** way more room on the left than the right **

Did this happen recently? The wheel was fine in the past? Or did you notice after you put the bike on the repair stand, made an adjustment and put the wheel back on.

It’s possible the rear triangle got bent at some point. Aside from that it can be that your wheel is not fully seated in the dropouts. The third possibility is defective manufacturing; you never did anything wrong yourself, the frame was sent out like this.

Is it out of dish or perhaps not fully inserted to frame?

Could be the wheel isn’t sitting correctly in the dropouts. Otherwise the dish of the wheel could be off which is less likely.

Either you’ve not seated the axle in the dropout correctly, or the wheel has been dished incorrectly. It may be possible your frame uses offset dishing, in which case this might be how it’s meant to be (thanks Cannondale…👍)

take wheel out, flip it around and see if it’s tight on the opposite side. If it is – wheel is out of dish. If it’s the same, frame isn’t straight.

Need to dish it

Check the dish on the wheel. If the dish is equal on both sides, then the frame isn’t symmetrical. Chainstays often aren’t symmetrical in order to fit larger chainrings in a more aerodynamic form.

It can be true, but the dish can still be off. Try putting the wheel in backwards. If there’s now more room on the left, the dish is off.
Edit. If the spacing changes, so that the side with more clearance changes sides.
