I’m not sure if it is ghost shifting but online it seems to be the case. I changed my rear derailleur as I broke the stock one, and now, whenever I shift, the pedals freeze up after a bit. They also freeze up at random.
I can see that the chain is rubbing against that part of the bike ( in image 1).
When shifting, it doesnt shift up to the largest gear either.
Any help would be appreciated.

They freeze up when you shift the front or back? And the bike doesn’t shift to the largest gear at the front or back?
You are currently cross chaining – small in the front and rear at the same time. It’s a horrible gear to be in and you’ll get rub on pretty much any bike in this combination. Try to keep the chain as straight as possible when riding the bike.
Park tool have some excellent videos on adjusting the [rear](https://youtu.be/UkZxPIZ1ngY?si=NEtnPjmvX9Qh7GOi) and [front](https://youtu.be/ZNG7g83lI-s?si=jFvAops-BF16gqiz) derailleurs. Id give these a crack to see if it solves your problems. Start with the rear since that is what you replaced. Also check the manual to see if you wrapped the chain through the derailleur properly, or upload a side on photo so we can see
