  1. GenericName187 on

It is probably from the 1970s bike boom era, early 1980s at the latest.

It is not worth fixing up unless you need a project. The appearance of the lugs, decals, and dropouts have the hallmarks of an inexpensive bike that would have been sold at a department store.

  2. There are a few things that lead me to believe it’s a low end frame. Frames all measure the same outside diameter of the tubing. Higher quality frames have thinner tube walls. All steel, by volume, weighs about the same. Better steel can be drawn out thinner. Less steel = less weight. If you had a seatpost, it would likely be a 25.4mm diameter. A 27.2 seatpost fits thinner tubing and indicates a lighter high quality frame.

Also, the spot welded steel plate brake bridge and the straight cut lugs are quick high production, lower quality features.

It’s not a terrible frame. It will ride well. There are worse frames out there, but as for collectibility and value, no one is seeking this for a collection. If you have some parts and want something old and unique to ride, it’s worth some time to put it back together, but it won’t be a big money bike.

  3. Definitely a very low end frame, and I thought the brand said Facesitter at first. The paint on this bike looks so sick though. This is definitely xbice material.
