    Every solution will involve some sort of a mounting hardware.

    You could go with either KlikFix (they have a handlebar mount and a bar that can hold a laptop) or Ortlieb (QuickRack + a pannier for a laptop)

    I see this question a lot; normally I don’t try to say what people should or should not do.

    But the answer is “Don’t”. The bike will vibrate and shake. It’ll destroy the laptop.

    Keep it on your back.

    That’s what I use with a single pannier. It’s a work laptop so I’m not too worried about long term damage from constant small vibrations. I do 80% tarmac.
