Preparing for international flights

I’m about to take it on four international flights, from China to Mexico City. I decided to choose this because it’s cheaper and easier to store later—I can fold it. It comes with a 7mm soft protective layer on all sides and a 5mm hard cardboard bottom layer. Will remove the saddle and pedals and fill the empty space with some clothes or other items for better protection. I hope this would work.
