This was our first ever bikepacking trip. The King Alfred’s Way is an epic off-road route based in the south of England and filled with over a thousand years of history. We split the 350km route into 3 days which still required long hours in the saddle each day. 1 day before the trip we found out that our 2nd night accommodation did not have bedding so therefore we needed to bring sleeping bags with us. Luckily I was able to fit mine quite effectively on top of my tailfin back bag.
On this trip I was using Tailfin bags to store my clothes, food and tools. The Tailfin carbon Aeropack held the majority of my things and was ideal for the challenging and undulating terrain. In addition I used the Tailfin top tube bag where I stored my cables, tools and snacks – it’s easy zip access meant I rummage whilst riding along.
