I messed up the paint on a bike by affixing the lock like that. The little metal lug that attaches the lock to the plastic mount rubs up against the frame. If that is how you’re going to transport the lock I’d recommend taking that metal piece off the lock. Otherwise I’d suggest using the mounting hardware that was supplied with the lock.
