New wheel. Nut on one side won’t screw past a point. Was stuck from the beginning, had trouble taking it off. Both nuts work one one side, but don’t work on this side. No rust as far as I can see. What should I do? Tried cleaning with a wire brush without any solution, might spray some WD40.

    Galled threads or wrong thread pitch. Take some calipers and measure the threads per inch (TPI) and get a new nut. Make sure the replacement also has the flared end like the one you’ve got there.

    Before you take it to a shop just try tightening the nut with a spanner, it will probably free up as you force the threads back into shape
