Did my shifter leave the chat? Went on a decently long ride today and on my way down I tried to shift up in gears for a small climb and my shifter did what it is doing in the video attached No change In gears after 4th or 5th gear however, I can still down shift into the lower gears? What could this possibly be? The shifter, a snapped cable or the derailleur? The bike was ghost shifting all throughout the ride until it finally stopped shifting completely. Any help appreciated!

It sounds dead to me. You could always try spraying some degreaser in there to see if it’s just gunk keeping the ratcheting mechanism from engaging.
You can see cable slack at the shifter (the cable end is visible with ample slack to keep it from engaging the mechanism). I recommend checking the derailleur end, pulling the cable taut, tightening it, and going from there. Lots of videos online to show how to get the proper tension, or check with a local bike shop.
