Just took apart my Spectral to install frame protection, and noticed that the chain guide had this 1.5mm spacer installed, when Spectrals have a 55mm chain line. That would explain why my chain ran so close to the guide in 1st gear (0.5mm at best).
Other Spectral owners may want to check for the same on their bikes.
