i still use those old school cable locks, and i wrap it around the seat post. i suppose this bottle may help with little scratches but i would rather have scratches than this ghetto fix, no matter what its for.
maybe its for a rider who wants a set lower seat position, you lower the seat as far as the bottle will allow and then clamp it?

This is a Brompton folding bicycle. The seat posts come in three lengths, and the longer seat posts prohibit the brompton from rolling on the EZ wheels (attached to rack or fender) when rolling in the “folded” position. The medicine bottle prohibits the seat post from being lowered to the minimum height.
