  1. I switched my bars a while ago but can’t really find a good position for the brake levers.

These are TRP rrl levers, currently they are mounted as high as possible, but I’d rather have them to be in a more flat position where they are even with the bars as it’s not very comfy in the hoods.

Are these levers just not well suited for the bars, or am I doing something wrong? The bars are VentureMax v2 from Ritchey.

I’ve looked for alternatives and the SRAM Rival 1 looks promising, but I couldn’t find anything good from Shimano that’s just a lever without shifting (using bar-end shifters on both sides).

Any advice on fixing the current ones or good alternatives are appreciated, thanks!

  2. I have the same bars. First, set the bars where you feel comfortable in the drops. Might need to play with a bit because of how the flat part of the bar fits. Then, adjust the brifters where they feel good. You might need a shorter stem too. Micro adjust when you get close.

I run apex and I set the brifters a little bit higher than the curve because the hoods will leave a bump that gets annoying.

Gravel bars are tough to get right, but apex and the venture bars are really comfy when you nail it.
