Petor is the director of Bespoked and this year, he moved the showcase from the UK to Dresden, Germany. Through regular visits to Germany, meeting builders and small independent manufacturers he was extremely fortunate to meet some incredible people who gave me a glimpse into bicycle manufacturing in Germany.
Inevitably, the name Diamant would crop up over and over, in the way that Raleigh would in the UK or Schwinn in the states. There were crumbs pointing to the former GDR everywhere, and in trying to learn a bit more about the cultural landscape of framebuilding in the former GDR all roads eventually led back to Diamant…

Really moving piece, Petor. So much work shooting, editing, and translating the footage. Well done
Amazing story and phenomenally shot and produced. Really impressed from start to finish, that while setting up an entire bike show, in a country that speaks a language that you do not, you're also doing this "on the side"… amazing Petor! Really amazing.
Dankeschön! Diese Generation hat viel zu erzählen und Besonderes erlebt.
In a world where bike media is consumed in sub 3-minute ultra fast doses, this felt like a journey. Well done, team! <3
Amazing. I’m sharing this with some frame builder buds🙏🏽
Thanks for conserving a piece of history, great job!
Mega Stark.Danke
