  1. Looks great, I would build a tourer or commuter out of it, completely rebuild the drivetrain to something meaty like a 1×11 or 12, and update the brakes, but keep that sweet fork!

Oh that’s a great find! Really cool bike! It’s I’m great shape too! I’d keep it as stock as possible!

  3. That sounds about right, I once had a 1953 Schwinn Hornet and the bike was pretty identical, right down to that paint scheme.

If I owned that, I’d find an internal 3 speed or 7 speed coaster brake hub for it. No place to put a front brake unless it was an old drum brake.Get some car polish and polish the frame out, it will look amazing. Heavy as crap but you can’t beat the vintage styling.
PS PUT THE FENDERS AND CHAINGUARD BACK ON!!

This was THE frame when we were building bmx bikes in the 70’s. I got one from the dump and someone stole it from me within a week, before I could do a build. Enjoy!

  5. Schwinn DX model
Great price serial number is under the crank pedal tube
    Don’t re paint it.
Put on new tubes and tires lube up the chain and bearings
    And ride it

  6. I have a similar Schwinn from the 60s. Love the fillet brazed frame and the blade fork! Very nice score!!
