  1. Ask your local transportation planner and local elected officials to support protected bike lanes and trails in your community.
    Send them a copy of this video to educate them on what is possible. Join in and speak up for bicycles in your community.

  2. My favourite Dutch bike thing is Utrecht's downtown car-free area. A close second is Groningen's car-light downtown, as shown in the video.

    I am a veteran of The Royal Regiment of Canada, which fought in the Battle of Groningen in April 1945. This was part of the successful effort of 1st Canadian Army to liberate The Netherlands. To this very day, a grateful Dutch people and Royal Family sends thousands of tulip bulbs every year to Ottawa. The flowers are lovely in the spring. A fitting monument to our victory and to lasting peace in Western Europe.

  4. @3:08 AS A dutchie i cycle for almost 47 years now, i can tell you this intersection is all about timing, special awarenes, adating/predicting, and eye contact. Great vid and i also learned a few things so thank you.
